Oh, god. "I overdid it drinking YET AGAIN", thy name is Danette. For some people, it's food, For others, money. For me, divey sports bars and cheap well drinks are my vice. You know how when you're at a chain restaurant, you order a coke or something, and you just keep drinking it because it's in front of you, and they keep pouring you refills because that's what they do, until you've had like 4 sodas and you want to die a little bit? This is what I manage to do every single freaking time, except with booze. Luckily, in this kind of establishment, you are just one of many engaging in ridiculous (and loud... so loud) drunken antics, so our very nice and prompt waitress didn't seem to mind. My compatriots are used to my shenanigans, and I think they were preoccupied with the variety of tasty bar-food type items (a'la chicken strips, burgers, nachos, etc). I also enjoyed that there were baseball games on several of the many tvs (lots of bars go football and college-football heavy even during baseball playoffs, which is super annoying). Whether or not the drink that pushed me over the edge was the one that led me to do half-remembered karaoke.... is not for me to say.

A fun place Player's is a good place to catch some sports or grab a drink. Pretty easy to get in and out of and the parking is good. The place has plenty of TVs. The crowd seems to be a mix of regulars and river visitors. Pretty friendly crowd here the times I have dropped in which is usually weekend midday time. The service is good and the staff is cool. Decent bar menu but nothing special in the way of food.

Oh my gosh! Has it been 30 years since Jeff's Family opened this awesome neighborhood Sports Bar ? See you all this Saturday if not sooner for a Pastrami sand and a nice cold Bud !

I like it cause I live close, but the customer service is hit or miss and so is the food. Some things you love and others you won't. Over all its great if you love sports n want TVs n bar food, but I wouldn't rage to everyone I know about it.

Had to give one star in order to write a review...not one to purposely try n hurt a business owner but this place is just shameful as far as basic customer service standards go. After more than 10 years of regular loyal patronage, I've reached my wits end...it seems as though I'm being disregarded and almost abused at this point...I'm low maintenance, friendly, non drama, and generous...but still I'm treated like a bother because I guess it is obvious I expect a bit of basic courtesy?!?! Over it! Not worth paying their high prices and making an effort to be low key to repeatedly be treated so poorly! They need to get over their attitude problem and learn what customer service is all about!!!! DONE!!!

The Karaoke DJ is super nice and does a great job, but the rest of the staff is rude and threatening and act/look like they're on steroids. Went in there on my Birthday and they treated me like shit. I only go there for Karaoke. Plus, I've never seen anyone eat in there. I heard it was awful dirty bar food w/a dirty kitchen.

I have mixed with all types of people I simply asked for a menu and got the rudest response. I asked for a Swiss burger( they only have one ) the bartender says "we have a lot of burgers here" with hostility in her voice so I simply asked is everything ok here you seem mad. And wow she blew up I ended up just leaving

This place is great! Celebrating 30 years tonight!! Greeted at the door with a free beer and they also had a buffet in the back with tri tip, chicken, ribs, etc. Jeff, the owner, takes good care of his guests! So many regulars here! Budweiser girls were walking around giving out Budweiser gear! Jeff have a speech about how Players got started and how much he loves his family, friends, and customers! Servers and bartenders are very attentive. And for the 30 year occasion he rented a limo and shuttle so people can get home safely! How nice! Live band, too! Great place for some great fun!

A group of 10 of us came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a tough deal that has recently closed, and to see my boss song karaoke. Karaoke starts at 9:30 on Saturday nights so we arrived a little before 9:00 to hangout beforehand. I was surprised that we were almost the only ones in the place! Other than our group of 10, there was a few other people at the bar but that was it. Lucky more people started showing up as it got closer to 9:30. The place itself is a pretty big size, with plenty of tables and chairs to sit at in one half of the room and a huge wraparound bar on the other half with plenty of space to sit. Bathrooms are clean and nice too which is a huge plus especially for a sports bar! Our group chose to sit at one of the tables towards the front by the karaoke stage where we were helped by a nice and efficient server who was prompt in filling our drinks and asking if we needed food or water which was great! Drinks were a little inconsistent. My first drink was super strong, my second drink was perfect, and my third drink was a little strong again. They did have a HUGE drink menu which I may think of ordering from next time. Watching everyone song karaoke is always fun and amusing. Of course you have the good mixed in with the bad which also was the case here. Too much country and oldies music for my taste though, I thought there needed to be more hip hop/pop songs to get the energy up and get the crowd going!! I would come back here again if I was in the area and wanted to check out karaoke night again, I had a good time and there was a good crowd even though it wasn't my typical crowd I had a lot of fun.

Love this place. Sports, tons of TV's, drinks, patio, good food and karaoke on weekends. And if you want billiards just drive up the block to their other bar

This is the one on Sunrise, next to the smog check place. When I first moved to the area, I lived across the street from here and used to go to both Players locations. They're a fun-ish type of place. This location is like a beer hall, where vikings go to celebrate after some battle. The other location is filled with various games - pool tables, ball throwing things, what-not, a low-rent Dave and Busters, if you will. The drinks are decent and the food (at this location) is fun for what it is, but my gripe with the joint is that it's very clique-ish. On my first visit, they spotted someone who was new and the room temperature dropped to d-chill. The music stopped and I got grilled like I was strolling south from Ft Knox with gold coins trickling down my pant-leg. "So... New here, eh? What's your name, NEIGHBOR? What do you do?" Look - as I type that, I see that it looks super-friendly. It seems just dog-gone neighborly! Now read it again in Dennis Hopper's "Frank Booth" voice from Blue Velvet. It was more like that. Now... in all fairness, that was a lot of years ago, and I went in recently with some friends and didn't get treated like a Yanquee in Lee's south, but I can never really get over that first creepy interrogation. On my latest visit, I enjoyed some bar food with my friends - awesome chicken wings and delicious flavored french fries and the prices were excellent for this sort of bar-food. All in all, a fun place if you can avoid the third degree.

My husband and I have only been here a couple of times. The first time several years ago for an AT&T retirement event. It was fun service was good. We came back last week and had an amazing bartender, spectacular drinks, brilliant service and good food. We decided heck we will go back. We found out Dave the bartender was working tonight so we brought in some friends and enjoyed again amazing service he remembered our names and our drinks and served us with a great smile and hysterical stories. He suggested we try some food so we did the hot wings were Fantastic and he told us to come back for dinner! We Absolutely will next week! Thank you Dave for making this our new pub around the corner and spot for food and drinks we love it! Best Ever!

Cool sports bar, they also have karaoke nights on Friday. Food is surprisingly good and they have great happy hour specials. Staff is friendly as well.

I wasn't stoked to come here they typically serve your over fried bar food, however to my surprise they re-did the menu and it's awesome! We had bruschetta, chicken noodle soup (house made) and a pulled pork sandwich!! Food is awesome and I couldn't be happier about it, I live so close and now I'm excited to come back and try the rest of the new menu options! The drinks were great as always :)

For my money, Player's Sports Pub & Grill sets the bar very high! Great drinks, tasty food, very nice staff on hand. I've been here many times, and really, I have nothing but good things to say about this place! They're definitely doing it right, and I'd recommend Player's to anyone.

This place has a ton of tv's although most were purchased in the 90's. Ok bar food and the place is really dark inside...perfect for watching sports. Good service and full bar.

Bad beer selection unless you have a preference for bland. Some bonehead didn't order stella for world cup final. Sucked. Good good food for a sports bar.

I have been here many times and it is the same everytime. This place is a money machine. The food is pretty expensive for what it is. Basket of wings is like $9.49 for 8 wings. There wings taste good but more like 5 bucks good not 10 bucks ridiculous. The service is spotty. Some waitresses are on it and things go great but other times the waitresses are distracted by other patrons. It almost has a hooters feel inside with how the waitresses try to upsell you. The drinks are expensive and metered out to the last drop. You will not get a strong drink in here unless you tip heavily or order a double but you will have to pay either way. Carmelitas and the Stockman pour much stronger drinks. I have always felt if you are going to charge allot for your drinks you might as well pour them decent. I would imagine these drinks are so light their pour costs on the liquor are at 11-13% of sales. I get that this is a business to make money and hey of they can get away with it then so be it. I just don't want to be the sucker paying it. Order beer if you must go here.

$2.50 for a coke, $1.25 per refill?! i was getting punk'd right? $13.95 for defrosted appetizer platter of 4 small chicken "tenders", 4 wings, 6 onion rings, handful of criss cut fries with hfcs bbq sauce and ranch. times sure have changed Player's! i noticed they draw an even seedier crowd, if you can believe that, and you probably couldn't cut the attitude with a chainsaw. yes, it's that bad. eff that, no thanks...

Pretty cool & laid back. The people are friendly. Bartenders are great. Waitresses are nice. I was pretty much the token Asian there, but it's cool because I fit in where I get in :) Drinks were strong. Karaoke was fun. Sums it all up in a bunch.

Love this place. Laid back and fun. Come hungry... Try the roasted turkey. Delish. They have karaoke in Friday, Saturday and Monday night starting about 9:30. All the staff is friendly. We have had the same waitress every time, Nickie. She is very attentive. They have tons of tvs too!

Wish I could give it 3.5 stars but sometimes the service is incredibly lacking. Most of the "bar food" is good, stick away from things like fish or shrimp (possibly the steaks, never ordered one though). Drinks are usually pretty good (strong), buffalo wings are the norm, same with cheeseburgers and sandwiches, one thing i do really like is their NY steak and Veg soup, thick lean juicy NY steak chunks and a great beef broth (sometimes too rich for me to finish). Good place to watch a game though as they probably have 50 tvs and will change one to whatever you want usually (came in and asked to have a TV changed to the Americas Cup Sailing race... Never heard of? Neither had they but they had the channel I wanted and put it on for me).

I have been here a lot of times and I am writing this in hopes the owner or manager or someone actually reads it. I 1st visited in 2004 and thought the place was pretty cool. Decent food and stiff drinks. Bartender and server were cool. Definitely noticed that the service was much better if you were a regular compared to a new comer. Well over the years not much has changed, only the prices really. The decor, the bartenders, the customers, all the same. Well, as with all old things, the place is stale. The employees have become bitter and impatient in their old age. It is driving my friends and I away. In fact, unless they change things, I'll never go back again. The environment and service is not worth the $50-$60 I always seem to spend there.

Our family's first visit to watch a big college football game with a lot of other fans. I was really impressed and will definitely return. I give it 5 stars for service (Nikki) and 3 stars for average, overpriced food to give it an overall 4. We really did walk out of there spending a lot of $ BUT it was payment for hours of entertainment and a meal. Our server, Nikki, was just so super friendly and that makes up for a lot in any restaurant or bar. She just couldn't have been nicer and attentive. The overall vibe was good. We will return.

Went here to watch the Cardinals game with my boyfriend. We first sat down in a corner and asked them to switch the small TV (probably the smallest size they had) to our game. They did so promptly. We're used to small TVs being in niner and raider territory.. and this bar is a steelers bar. Part way through the game one of the staff tells us there's a bigger TV with the Cards on and we move over there. The staff was really friendly, our waitress super attentive and they have tons of TVs. Only reason I'm only leaving 4 stars is because their food is pretty pricey and they don't really have any game day specials other than serving breakfast.

The mission was karaoke. My friends were having a difficult time deciding where to go. They were reluctant to go to Players. Reason? It's always packed. They didn't want to go somewhere and have to fight to get in one song. We drove around to a couple of different places. We eventually ended up at Players, until last call. They, hands down, have the best karaoke sound system I've ever heard. It somehow managed to showcase those with star quality voices. At the same time, it was incredibly forgiving to those that don't. There's also a decent sized dance floor, so if you want to get your groove on while your buddy belts out the chorus - you're set. For as busy as it was on a Saturday night, everyone in our group that wanted to - got to sing at least once, if not twice. I, myself, was having a tough time breaking away my attention from the multiple screens showing Spike TV. Everyone kept asking me: "why are you so quiet?" or "why are you being anti-social?" I'm sorry. (Me to Spike TV) is like or equivalent to (flies to bug zapper). They have a pretty extensive food menu and everything we ordered came out quickly. There is a good sized room in the back for those of you that smoke. My only complaint: the women's bathroom is a sauna. Unless you are looking to rid yourself of some water weight - it's pretty ridiculous in there. No cover charge is a nice bonus.

Every time I come here, I feel like I'm gatecrashing a private party. People huddled in groups around their tables. I've never seen this place packed, so if you're going alone, you're gonna stand out. Take a seat at the bar. It's a chill pub, though. The bartenders are always nice, and they take time to exchange pleasantries while they make your drink or wait for you to decide on one. They will even suggest one if you're having trouble.

Blech. I am only giving this two stars because I know and went to high school with two of the bouncers there, and they are awesome. Aside from that... GOSH this place sucks. Went last night to meet up with a couple of friends... Friday night karaoke... my favorite *groan*. Really, I don't mind karaoke... it just seems like EVERY dive in the greater Sacramento area has karaoke whenever I go there. No special prices on drinks... a vodka soda (well) and coors light came out to $8.25... probably should have been cheaper. The thing that REALLY turned me off is the "semi-enclosed" patio in the back. It was really hot in the main bar, so I accompanied friends who were smoking out back. I quit about 7 months ago, but don't mind being around it... except for on this nasty patio. My eyes started watering, throat got scratchy and nose started running after sitting out there for less than 5 minutes. It was rancid enough to make me leave. The cocktail waitresses are NOT especially friendly, and a few look like they should have probably retired in 1995... just sayyyin.

$6.00 beers. 1/2 price for soda refills .... Really ? Sodas are pretty much free for this place and they charge $3 for first lne and $1.5 for every refill. What a joke . Bad food to boot.

A must try if you are seeking Sports Sports and more Sports. The only place to watch your game(or multiple game at the same time) is here! They have it all!!! Great food and drinks. They have almost any game you want usually (unless its blacked out for some reason.) They also get things like Pac 12 network & all the packages for those hard to find games. And sometimes its nice to be able to sit back with your beer and simply ask a lovely bartender to please find the golf and also the baseball game . So awesome .Staff is friendly and informed about ongoing sporting events. You cannot find better "bar food" than this place. The Philly Cheese steak is so delicious here. And my friend had to take half her burger home , it was so big! So many things to choose from..They have buzztime trivia/poker which is so fun and extremely addictive. Darts ,foosball, and Karaoke on Sat.,Fri.,& Mon. Nights. The sound system here is no joke ,it sounds so increadible you won't want to sing anywhere but here. I am totally spoiled for life now. They have a great selection of beer and spirits and the staff are more than willing to try to make you something special or make a suggestion if they don't have what you like. I never leave here disappointed .

The most unbeleivably good ribs ever! Phenom food, big screens everywhere. Smoke cigars in the back with dolby surround sound. This could possibly be the ultimate man cave! Love this place!

Was there last night for karaoke and was terrible. The way they have the tables set up, you are always in the way and they make sure you know it by coming by and telling you to move. Um im kinda having a conversation with not my fault you set up here. Drinks are expensive for the crap beer they have. Karaoke was wayy too loud and if you are not a regular you get skipped over to allow coco in. Explain why they need 4 bouncers at the door? This is why I choose to stay home and drink #craftbeer never again!

When I'm home for the holiday's, there is no question about it: you will find me here, a few Rum and Cokes in, singing "All That Jazz." I love this place. Why wouldn't you love this place? Karaoke, sports, greasy food...KARAOKE. I never, ever have bad service here. My drinks do me well (with a reasonable price that follows). I always come equip with a group of friends, of which we usually score a table with not problems (It's usually crowded, so getting there around 9:30pm will most likely get you a table). And I always get more than a turn or two singing my favorite songs. Nothing more annoying when you go to karaoke and you're not called. That's never an issue for me here! Plus, the karaoke area has a nice little dance floor so you can go make a fool of yourself to your favorite tune. Then the morning after, you can recall those embarrassing moments as you look at your camera. :) (4 stars are for Player's itself. The missing star is for their bathroom. Womp, womp!)

They get two stars because it was clean, plenty of TV's to watch if you wished, but that's it. We came in at 7:00 or 7:05 at the latest and after being ignored by the two we think we are all that servers in the seating area we moved to the bar. We sat down, ordered a Bushmill's rocks and a cranberry for the driver (wife) BAM!! $8.50...too much in my opinion..We noticed the happy hour menus and started to peruse them over and the bartender proceeded to snatch them from us like we were teen age shoplifters "HAPPY HOUR IS OVER AT 7 PM". So after noticing that here was only two guys hovering at the bar flirting with the two servers who thought they were all that and a bag of chips, and the bartender staring at the TV's with his mouth draped open like a fly catcher, and looking at the absolutely ridiculous prices on the regular menu..we left..and most likely will never return. You think we would learn, we have been into Players probably 6-7 times in the last 5 years and have always left feeling disappointed, cheated, or just down right depressed.

2.5 stars This place is great when it's packed - the dullest place on earth when it's slow. When it's slow, the bartenders tend to be rude and just ick. The youngsters I've spoken to have been surprisingly stuck up. The older guy - kind of like a friendlier faced Anthony Bourdain - is pretty friendly. The cocktail and food servers, however, have been uniformly friendly. When it's busy, the atmosphere of the bar is definitely improved ~ I like going here with friends in a group. Like another reviewer said, the bar tends to be full of mediocre and/or aging men with an entitlement complex and zero personality. So they gawk. Not a very interesting experience. The big patio is a boon.

  • Alfredo G.

Karaoke here on a Friday night is excellent. The sound system is really good and the waitresses keep the drinks coming. The only setback is there are a high amount of singers. You'll be lucky to get two songs in for the night. However the atmosphere is fun and the crowd is always energetic.

I walked over here with a group of friends after eating at Carmelita's on the hill. This is my first time coming to this Player's, I've been to the one on Fair Oaks plenty. This place doesn't have my beloved shuffle board but I still had a good time! The bartenders made good drinks, especially Rob who took care of me for the majority of the evening. If you're a sports fan you'll probably love this place. Big screen TV outside, and speakers in the bathrooms so you don't miss out. The inside of this place is a lot bigger than I expected and I like that they have seating all the way around the bar. We spent most of our time sitting outside on the covered patio, chatting and drinking. A couple friends ended up playing darts, and I ended up getting involved in a game of beer pong after talking mad shit to the previous players. Good times!

Don't be a Player Hater. This place is fun. Good grub too. Ribs, waffle fries and ice cold beer. Big plate of ribs. Our dark-haired waitress was friendly and had ample cleavage. In fact, a lot of women at Players had ample cleavage. Especially as the night wore on. Lots of Fair Oaks felines texting and texting. One of them had a bit of a cat fight with my wife. And there goes her bra! No I'm kidding but there was just a minor verbal spat. Cougars! Players is a great place to watch the game. Screens all over the place. We were finishing up dinner when the karaoke started up. I threw a song in the hat before the place got too packed. The karaoke host was entertaining and had a killer sound system. four greasy hot wings!

I've been here twice now, and I have to admit that I really like this place. I've passed by Players for years, but always thought it looked a little too run-down and shady for my liking. However, my friends and I decided to give it a chance yesterday, and I honestly have to admit that my initial impression of Players was not accurate. The parking situation is a little strange because the parking lot is not leveled off, so you might want to put your e-break on when you finally find a spot. It can also get really packed here on the weekends, so you might have to get creative and venture out a ways to find a decent place to park. The inside of the bar is fairly large, and filled with televisions, sports memorabilia, and neon signs. The bar itself is more towards the back near the bathrooms, and usually has two bartenders behind the counter when it's busy. There's also a really cool covered patio in the back that has fooseball, a dart board, and plenty of tables. The bartenders were attentive and laid back , and the drinks were pretty cheap, which is awesome because you'll want to save some of your cash for the A-W-E-S-O-M-E ribs they got here. We ordered a plate, and it came with fries and garlic bread, and it is easily big enough to feed two people. The crowd at players is kind of a mixed bag of older patrons and late 20's to mid 30's bar goers. You will, eventually, run into the typical redneck douchebag toughguy who thinks he's a cage fighter...but this is Citrus Heights, afterall, so thats to be expected. Never the less, it's still a great place to get good food and a beer for a reasonable price. Check it out if you're in the area.

I have come here for the past couple years to meet up with my alumni (Montana State) and watch the cat-griz game. This year we had about 100 people watching the game inside. Their new TVs are a great and needed upgrade. Their are plenty of tvs and out-coves that allow you to watch whatever game you want. The beers on tab are good. Maybe 8 or so in total. They also have a large selection of bottles. The food is noting to rave about but they can cook up some good sports bar munchies. The waitresses were awesome. They were extremely prompt and put up with our yelling after having a few too many. This bar is a great neighborhood sports bar and I will definitely be coming back!

  • Liz Z.

I really like this place for watching sports. They recently purchased flat screens and they look so much better than the tube tvs they use to have. On Mondays, you get a chance to win prizes and they're free! Jeff, the owner, is really sweet and if you get in good with them... food are half off!

I only put one star because I had to. The KJ Skipped over my group several times and after most of my group ordered foods and drinks the bartender came up to out table and laid down menus. When we tole him we already ordered he said that our group had to order at least $4 worth of food and drinks per person per hour. I've never encountered service like that ever so my entire group of 15 people promptly got up and walked out. I will never go back there again.

If it weren't for the awesome food THIS players would only have 1 star wait I take that back if it wasn't for the food this place would have 0 stars bartenders aren't nearly as good as the other players , no pool tables , horrible ear curdling karaoke like every night . YUCK ... food really is amazing though , the dip sandwich is AMAZING

  • Joe B.

Deep fried food..... Big screen tv...... Plenty of parking... Not bad.... Service wasn't great..... You have to pay for refills on soda... Probably cost 12 bucks with tax and tip for soda..... I'm not opposed to going back to this place..... Maybe for a happy hour..... It wasn't bad at all.... It was a ok... But I don't like having to pay for refills on soda, when we were still ordering beers as well.. Seems like they are sticking it to you... That is sort of ok because of the huge tv screen with a great picture....

Friday night fun - the place was packed and the bar took forever to get a drink, but the pool tables were decent, the sticks fairly straight, and the drinks fairly sauced.

  • Kristin B.

Terrible! KJ was very rude, bartenders did not know what liquors they had or how to make basic drinks, and the door host staff let less than desirable, obviously over-served people harass me & my friends. Save your money for a place that appreciates it. I wouldn't give this place any stars but 1 is the minimum.

I can't imagine how this place has enough sockets to maintain all the tv's. I don't usually go to bars to watch tv, but seeing as my main purpose here was to see a fight... the environment was to my liking. Place was completely packed up and lively. Beer can be bought in pitchers, which will save you money by the end of the night if your group is big enough. They do occasionally have a cover charge. I'm not a big fan of cover charges, but when it's an event you can't miss... I'm willing to dish out that 10 bucks (even if it must be forcefully removed from my unwilling hands). Other side notes: Mens Restroom door was pounded in as if someone had just taken out all of their built up frustration on it... (my last visit was awhile back, so they may have fixed it). The last time using the mens restroom facility, the floors were a bit wet. For a second there I thought I was ice skating, but it was an incredibly busy night, so I will let that tiny inconvenience "slide". You may catch a local fighter here, in my case it was Urijah Faber! Also, tv crews were in the building at the time, so maybe even a bit of spotlight if that is your thing. There are alot of beefed up guys in here! So don't bring your crazy friends that tend to get you into trouble... believe me, it won't turn out in your favor! Overall, place is worth a visit if you must watch a fight in a bar environment.

Wow, this must be my week for yelping bars and pubs! Karaoke at Players is just great. Watching a game at Players is great. Hanging out at Players, playing cards (or whatever) is plain old great. Took a meetup group here for some karoake (2nd time) and everyone had a good time. Our server, once we figured our which one was ours, was attentive and good. The only reason Players is not getting 5 stars is because the food is overpriced for what you get. We just wanted a snack, chicken strips. We got em and they were good. but not nearly enough for the price paid. Bottom line, don't go there HUNGRY! But do go!

One of the best hot pastrami sandwiches in Sacramento ! Grilled just right with killer Swiss cheese! Crisscut fries are our favorite, especially when you go garlic style! Way better than average pub food! NY steak bites on garlic bread a killer deal for a great quality cook to temp steak!!!

Excellent karaoke setup with multiple monitors, good song election and sound system, dance floor so your inebriated friends can join your warbling, and a gracious karaoke DJ. Reasonable prices for drinks.

This is a big bar, as the name alludes to, this is a sports themed bar. Although the Saturday night I went there were a lot of women, not many of them attractive, lots of cougars. The drink I was served tasted a bit weak, the whole scene just didn't really match our group. On the plus side of Players; it is just a short walk to our groups favorite dive-bar Stockman Club

Love this place because I can SMOKE! First visit was July 2009 with some military buddies who pretty much LIVE here when they're in Sacramento. Good service, great looking waitresses ( who will show you their breasts if cajoled enough), and a place to SMOKE on the patio. They also have Karaoke if that's your thing. They do offer food but for what it is, I must say, it's overpriced. It's typical bar food but if you do choose to eat, make sure you try the Garlic-fries or waffle-fries.

Me and my 3 friends wanted a place to go Saturday night and I found this place had karaoke, so why not give it a try. Food here is pretty cool, as they offer burgers, sandwiches, ribs, etc. I ordered a sandwich, forgot which, but had cream horseradish which I like. My friend ordered the deluxe appitizer and that was pretty good. Karaoke starts at 9pm and thats when the place gets busy. The karaoke DJ was very nice and had 4-5 copies of the song lists which is really big. You can also request a song he doesn't have and he'll try to get it for you. The system works on a first come first serve basis where you fill a slip and turn it in. The wait can be quite long however, but its fair. There are several karaoke monitors and regular sport tvs around the entire place. They have 2 large screens toward the back. I had a great time here and would probably come back. We did feel a tiny out of place as 3% of the entire place were "minorities", but I don't care.

This is my favorite place to hang out. Great food (best ribs in town), great drinks, excellent prices and you can't beat the friendly good looking staff. I would recommend Players for any occasion or no occasion at all.

This place holds rank as one of the bars I have been my craziest drunkest at and not thrown up. I contribute it to drinking ALL DAY LONG. I was super loud and annoying and trying to back up dance for my friend who was doing karaoke. I remember lots of guys talking to my friends and I, and even though I was wasted none of them were cute. My friend, Nat-dawg, kept telling Howie Mandel look-a-like, 'No deal Howie.' I also remember singing REALLY loud to 'Before He Cheats'. That was by far my most obnoxious moment of the night. Oh - and I remember Nat-dawg daring me to ask the bartender for a 'stiff penis on the rocks'. Which, I did. And he promptly served us 'Blue Dolphins' (waters). I think I had like 10 Blue Dolphins that night! I think this is the ONLY reason I did not throw up. :P ----- Since my memory is fairly sketchy of that evening, I think Pink will have to sum up the night for me: "Uh uh uh uh uh uh uh oh Uh uh uh uh uh uh uh oh Check it out Going out On the late night Looking tight Feeling nice It's a cock fight I can tell I just know That it's going down Tonight At the door we don't wait cause we know them (although I'd never been here before) At the bar six shots just beginning That's when dick head put his hands on me But you see I'm not here for your entertainment You don't really want to mess with me tonight Just stop and take a second I was fine before you walked into my life Cause you know it's over Before it began Keep your drink just give me the money It's just you and your hand tonight Uh uh uh uh uh uh uh oh Uh uh uh uh uh uh uh oh Midnight I'm drunk I don't give a f**k Wanna dance By myself Guess you're outta luck Don't touch Back up I'm not the one Buh bye Listen up it's just not happening You can say what you want to your boyfriends Just let me have my fun tonight Aiight I'm not here for your entertainment You don't really want to mess with me tonight Just stop and take a second I was fine before you walked into my life Cause you know it's over Before it began Keep your drink just give me the money It's just you and your hand tonight Uh uh uh uh uh uh uh oh Break break Break it down"

I must admit I went here with really really low expectations. I have been spoiled by one of the best sports bars (outside of some place like the ESPN zone) in the South Bay. But I must say I was pleasantly surprised. We went there for Sunday football and they had a lot of TVs and a couple large screens. Pros: Lots of TVs, you can get any game you want, very friendly waitress (Heidi) Cons: Food is not so good, Very few games broadcast in HD, Big screen was a projection screen, it's very dark inside, No flat screen TVs (that I saw) all were old CRT televisions.

A few friends got together tonight to celebrate a friend's return to Sactown. We had a great dinner and then wanted to continue the party so we headed over to Players. This was my first visit and I was impressed. I am by no means a sports fan, but I can say if I was....I'd be in heaven. The game was even playing over the loudspeaker in the bathroom. That aside, it was awesome to hang out, play darts, watch a couple of rousing games of beer pong and enjoy really good, strong drinks. The atmosphere was fantastic, the bartenders were great, the people were fun and friendly and I had a fantastic Friday night!

Visited for my first time to watch some March Madness last weekend. The place was full, but not packed. Not too loud, nicely casual, and appropriately dim and sports-themed. Our first pitcher of cheap beer was cold, but flat enough to send back and try another brand - which was also a little flat, but not terrible, so we stuck with it. We also split the nachos, which were tasty, but pretty standard. The waitress was friendly and attentive...the bar was covered with TV's, and the crowd was there to watch the game. It was comfortable and friendly, and I'll probably be back to give the beer another chance (or just stick to bottled).

A little ghetto, but very entertaining on karaoke nights. Drink prices were reasonable and the staff were nice, and honest!

Came here Saturday afternoon with a couple buddies on our way to pick up my dad for a fun event that evening. I knew they had Golden Tee and we havent played that game in a LOOONG while. Great to find out it is the 2010 version of GT. Ordered ourselves a pitcher of Coors Light and let the games begin. The front nine was a total battle with the scores being -1, -1, E. Make sense? You diggin this golf lingo? Order up second Coors Light pitcher. One buddy starts to dominate. I start to suck something fierce. Competetive juices start coming out. I cuss. I am sorry. Order up some Captain and cokes. After sending back the Jack and cokes we get our order right. Funny thing is(but not really funny) the game took way longer than expected, my dad called all pissed off because we are way late and one buddy just pounded the crap out of us. Fun experience if not frustrating at the same time.

Players is a fun and friendly place to enjoy a cocktail, watch your favorite game on their dozen plus tvs, socialize and meet new people, and be entertained by the brave karaoke singers. Players is the best bar I've been to in along time!

This place is HUGE, it's clean and is a great bar. It's just not for me, it has more of a sports appeal than small hole in the wall feeling. My friends and I did order food, it was good for eating out at a bar it was just a bit pricey. The only drinks I ordered were $3.00 Crown & Cokes. There was karoke on the dance floor, tv monitors and dart boards and would be good for large groups of people.

Karaoke sound system is nice, but too loud, way too loud. KJ is a real jerk. Food is alright.

Number one, I must apologize to anyone who happened to be at Player's during my karaoke de-virginization that Friday night... I had a little too much liquid courage and felt it necessary to belt out the "Pina Colada song" along with Gold Digger and Don't Stop Believin. Sorry! Now that my apology is out of the way, I give this place a solid 4 stars. I always have a good time here. The steak sandwich is awesome, the bar is not too big, not too small, good crowd, and excellent bartenders! Kind of a divey feel makes this place one of my faves.

this place is cool. too many t.v.'s to count inside the place, and some sweet karaoke nights that are so crowded you may just have to get drunk and watch. the food is pretty damn good pub style. try the sampler, it's so much food, and it's all deep fried, what could be better!? if only it was served by some hot, tight clothes wearing waitress,..wait they have those too! they even have an overflow bar just down the street. a second bar just in case the first bar is too crowded, what an idea!

Awesome place to watch games. But i am so out of american food, i would recommend this place to invent a new menu and make it more intresting. Othwerwise this place is a nice hang out and chillax evenings made perfect. Nice cocktails and sweet people around, so makes it easy to deal with too

Went here on a Saturday night around 10:30pm, after West Coast Swing Dancing at the Fair Oaks Community Center with the Capital Swing Dance Club. About half full at that time. yelp.com/biz/B0c2btCfi78… This neighborhood bar is good size. Two friendly bouncers at the door who welcome you. You enter and to your right is a medium size dance floor where people are taking turns singing karaoke. Must be popular on Saturdays because there were people singing right after another. TV monitors all over the ceilings showing Ultimate fights and the words to the Karaoke songs. Two bars, tons of bar seating around tall tables, a good size room off to the side for the smokers to lounge in. A small area of two electronic darts. Darts seem to be a big deal since there were signs up for tournaments. Our waitress was attentive but not pushy. Crowd aged from 20-50's. Fun energy, no meat market feel, more of a neighborhood feel even though the place is pretty big. I don't frequent bars, since I don't drink but this place was very good since I was with friends and the crowd was having fun singing or watching the games. My group of dancers were probably the rowdy ones.

Besides the high prices and crappy KJ (Karoake Jockey), the poor excuse for a bartender who mistakenly thinks he's gods gift to something, Chris, stole money from me right in my face!!! I put down a $10 for a $4.50 beer, he rang up my beer and proceeded to put the change in his tip jar!! Now I am no cheap skate but a $5.50 tip for a $4.50 beer is quite assumptive and absurb. Needless to say, I am PISSED!!! ATTENTION JEFF, THE OWNER, GET RID OF YOUR RIP OFF ARTIST BARTENDER, CHRIS!!! Because of him, i and my girlfriends will NEVER be back and trust me from the sausage fest that is your bar on the weekends, I am sure you want females coming back as often as possible, girls are good for business in your line of work and having an arrogant jerk off theif behind the bar does not make myself and my very classy, very fun, pretty attractive girls come back toyour establishment!!! You need to get rid of the thief and the POS KJ you got working for you, they suck and reflect on your business!!! I HATE THIEFS!!!

Not a bad place. If it was closer to my house, I'd probably go more often. Staff are very friendly. Alot of seating. Gets pretty busy, which is fun. Karaoke is awesome but very very busy and you may end up leaving to go home before they ever call your name. Drink are O.K. Not the best. Good parking.

Lots of sports screens here and they are very good about having a good selection of games. I watched three baseball games at the same time, which was good, and a fourth was on a TV a little around the corner. Only the standard american sports are covered here, though, so not a true sports pub, IMHO, because they laugh when you ask if they have a soccer channel. Beer selection is low, only about 6-7 flavors. Lots of tables around and a pretty decent menu of bar food and a few other selections. I ordered the ribs based upon a huge banner they had declaring they were voted best ribs in Sacramento. Ok...now it was my turn to laugh. The ribs were tough...overly dry and crispy (like jerky) at the extremities and tough and chewy in the real meaty parts. It priced a bit above what you normally pay for ribs, but on par with good sit down restaurants that have much better ribs. The sauce was very sweet with very little tangy-ness, which is the exact opposite of what I like. I prefer more spice and less sweet. All in all, I've had better ribs in places like NJ, which isn't even known for ribs. And this place doesn't hold a candle to the typical ribs you get in Chicago or any place in TX. A salad came with the ribs and some run of the mill garlic bread. The beer was fairly priced and the servers and bartender were friendly enough. A very eclectic mix of patrons, so for people watching, it's a decent show. I've never heard two patrons in a bar argue about types of lettuce, but I did here and it made me chuckle to myself. They bragged about having a lot of karaoke nights, which isn't my scene, and I was glad I got out of there before it may have begun, but some folks really like that. My rating has nothing to do with karaoke, just simply the lame food and standard sports fare. They have an outdoor patio, which is where all the smokers go, so if you aren't a smoker, don't sit next to the patio door, because you get a face full every time they open the door to come in or go out. They were kind enough to invite me back as I was leaving and maybe I'll go back and give their food another try, based solely on their hospitality. This place is a little tough to find when you are driving by coming from the north or south, so keep a sharp eye because it's set back from the street a bit and you can miss it easily.

i don't know very much about the sacramento area, but i do know that this is a damn good place to come after a long day of river rafting. after you've dried off and turned in your rafts for the day, head on over here to eat here before that long drive back to SF. good sports pub fare and beers.
